Josh Richardson, a 10-year NBA veteran guard, has announced his retirement from professional basketball.
The 32-year-old made the announcement on July 29, 2026, bringing an end to a career that began as a second-round draft pick in 2015.

Richardson was selected 40th overall by the Miami Heat out of the University of Tennessee.
He became known as an elite perimeter defender and versatile role player across six franchises, including two separate stints in Miami.
In a statement released on his social media account, Richardson expressed gratitude and peace with his decision.
"I always gave my best, that's why i can say this with no regret," he wrote.
"I am grateful to have been able to love this game and it love me back as much as it did."
He added, "It wasn't set up for me at any point in my career, and from high school, college, and the pros i humbly worked my butt off every day be the best that i could be.
All my fans, coaches and teammates, i hope i left a good impression and a positive view of me.

Over his 10 NBA seasons, Richardson averaged 11.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 554 regular-season games.
His best statistical year came during the 2018-19 season with Miami, when he averaged a team-leading 16.6 points per game.
Richardson spent his first four seasons with the Heat before joining the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2019-20 season.
