Meteorologists have issued a Category 2 Slight Risk for severe weather across the region, as multiple rounds of widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected through Sunday.

According to WCPO weather forecasters, localized heavy downpours could accompany the storms, posing potential hazards.

Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 70s to low 80s, with overcast skies and repeated precipitation keeping conditions unsettled.

Rainfall Accumulations and Timing

Widespread rain is expected to develop following morning showers, producing an estimated half inch to three-quarters of an inch of accumulation.

Storm activity will persist through Saturday night, adding another quarter to half inch of rainfall before briefly tapering off in the late overnight hours.

Sunday will bring a second wave of showers and heavy thunderstorms, intensifying from late morning through the afternoon.

Rainfall is expected to gradually diminish by Sunday night, with a quieter pattern featuring mixed skies taking over by Monday.

However, lingering low-pressure systems could still trigger isolated afternoon showers into Tuesday as temperatures warm into the mid-80s.
