An attorney for the ex-wife of Republican Rep.
Max Miller filed for a court restraining order on Thursday, seeking to stop the Ohio congressman from contacting her legal team amid ongoing abuse allegations.

The filing comes in an ongoing custody battle and details claims by Emily Moreno, daughter of Sen.
Bernie Moreno, that Miller repeatedly engaged in verbal and physical altercations with her lawyer following court hearings.
Police reports show Moreno previously reported multiple instances of violence during their 2022-2024 marriage, including an incident where Miller allegedly threw her against a wall during a custody exchange, leaving visible marks.
Separately, Moreno alleged that Miller held a gun to her head and threw hot water on her.
Court documents also mention a child protection investigation into injuries to their 2-year-old daughter, though no evidence substantiated abuse charges.
Miller has not been charged with a crime and retains joint custody.
He strongly denies all accusations, calling them false assertions aimed at damaging his political standing and custody rights.

In an affidavit, Moreno wrote: "Unless restrained, he will continue to harass, threaten, and communicate with my counsel directly."
Miller's campaign spokeswoman, Abigail Angelos, defended him, stating that the court's continued grant of joint custody speaks to the lack of credible evidence.
"Congressman Miller will continue to vigorously defend his reputation against false and reckless allegations designed to inflame public opinion rather than reflect reality," Angelos said.
Democratic opponent Brian Poindexter said that if the allegations are true, Miller should be in jail, not worried about retaining his seat.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine called the accusations "troubling" and noted that voters in the district must weigh the facts.
