Nissan and German camper specialist Eifelland have teamed up to create the Interstar-e Relax, an electric camper that can use its high-voltage battery to power a heater when camping off-grid.
The van, based on Nissan's electric Interstar-e panel van, features a conversion designed for camping trips and outdoor activities.

It will make its public debut at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf later this month.
Battery-Powered Heating
The camper's standout feature is its use of vehicle-to-load functionality.
Instead of needing an external electrical hookup, the standard Truma Eezy parking heater draws power directly from the Nissan's high-voltage battery.
Eifelland says the heater's consumption is low enough that keeping the cabin comfortable shouldn't significantly dent driving range.
This setup avoids burning fuel locally, unlike diesel campers that run fuel-burning heaters.
The Interstar-e uses an 87 kWh battery, providing the base van a WLTP range of up to 255 miles (410 km).
DC charging peaks at 130 kW, and a 22 kW AC onboard charger is standard.

A single electric motor delivers 141 hp (105 kW) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque, which is adequate for campsite destinations.
Interior Amenities
Inside, the camper offers a fixed bed measuring 1.90 x 1.60 meters (6.2 x 5.4 ft), a 90-liter refrigerator, an induction cooktop, and a sink.
Real wood trim and nearly 2.6 cubic meters (92 cu-ft) of storage add to the comfort.
A portable toilet is included, and removing two of the four seats creates additional living space.
Electric campers are still rare, with companies like Tonke converting smaller vans like the Mercedes EQV and VW ID Buzz.
VW and Mercedes have not yet offered full electric camper versions of their vans, but the Interstar-e Relax signals a growing trend.

The €89,900 ($102,000) camper promises a more peaceful camping experience.
