The Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 EV has just proven its performance credentials by setting a new lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
The electric sedan completed the legendary circuit in 7 minutes and 32.070 seconds, making it the fastest vehicle in its class.

A Record-Breaking Lap
The record was set on July 28 by Kevin Berger, who drove the car in Race mode, an option available with the AMG Dynamic Plus package.
This mode also raises the top speed to 168 mph (270 km/h) and adds red or black brake calipers with contrasting AMG lettering.
The car was nearly stock, but it wore Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires, which likely contributed to its impressive performance.
With a time of 7:32.070, the CLA 45 EV is quicker than a BMW M2, underscoring its track capabilities.
Tri-Motor Powertrain
The record was made possible by the CLA 45's tri-motor setup, which includes a front-mounted axial flux motor and two rear motors.
This configuration provides all-wheel drive and a combined output of up to 671 hp (500 kW / 680 PS) and 1,297 lb-ft (1,759 Nm) of torque.

These figures enable the compact sedan to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in exactly three seconds.
Power comes from a 94 kWh battery pack, offering a WLTP range of over 416 miles (670 km).
When the battery runs low, a 330 kW DC fast charger can replenish it from 10 to 80 percent in as little as 22 minutes.
Alternatively, a ten-minute charge adds more than 168 miles (270 km) of range.
Other performance features include variable torque distribution, torque vectoring, and an AMG Ride Control sports suspension with steel springs and three-way adaptive damping.

The car also boasts a high-performance braking system, active aerodynamics, and a screen-focused interior with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch infotainment system, and a 14-inch front passenger display.
