The AUDI E5 Sportback and E7X, electric vehicles developed for China, have begun appearing in Germany through a parallel importer.

Auto China, an importer based in Europe, is offering these models in limited numbers after purchasing them in China and homologating them for the German market.

According to Automobilwoche, the E5 Sportback is priced at €59,980 ($70,130), while the larger E7X SUV starts at €72,900 ($85,200).

In China, the E5 Sportback starts at 205,990 yuan ($30,600) and the E7X at 269,800 yuan ($40,100), meaning the German prices are roughly double.

Still Cheaper Than Some Audi Models

Despite the premium, these imported AUDIs undercut several of Audi's own EVs in Germany.

The closest rival to the E5 Sportback, the Audi S6 Sportback e-tron, starts at €99,500 ($116,300) and offers 543 hp, while the Chinese model has 776 hp.

Similarly, the Audi SQ6 e-tron, which is less luxurious than the E7X, is priced from €93,800 ($109,700), making it more expensive than the imported E7X.

However, buying a parallel import carries risks.

Audi could take legal action, as VW did in 2023 when a German importer brought in Chinese-market ID.
