Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Andre signed a new four-year contract on Friday, May 22, 2026, committing his future to the club until 2030 with an option for an additional year.

The 24-year-old Brazilian midfielder arrived from Fluminense in August 2024.

He chose to stay with the West Midlands club despite their recent relegation from the Premier League and reported interest from other teams.

Andre has made 74 appearances across two seasons for the club.

He secured two fan-voted Player of the Month awards during his debut campaign.

He also scored a dramatic injury-time winner against Liverpool at Molineux in March.

Club Officials Express Delight

"We are absolutely delighted that Andre has committed his future to Wolves," said Nathan Shi, Wolves executive chairman.

Shi noted that constant dialogue took place over the past few months.

The midfielder always made his desire to stay clear to help the club realize its immediate target of returning to the top flight.

"Having a player with Andre's quality committing to Wolves for the next four years is a huge statement of intent for the future," added Shi.

"It shows our long-term ambition and sends a strong message to other players that we are building a team hungry to get the club back to where it belongs."

Rob Edwards, Wolves head coach, praised Andre's professionalism.

"Andre's a great guy and is incredibly professional – he's a dream to work with," said Edwards.

Edwards emphasized that the player has grown into a leader within the squad.

He possesses excellent technical potential that will provide a major boost during the upcoming Championship campaign.

"He's an excellent footballer, technically he's really, really good," stated Edwards.

The head coach added that retaining top talent proves the club is serious about building a competitive squad for the summer.

"He's a really important player for us," remarked Edwards.

Edwards mentioned that his coaching focus shifted heavily toward getting the summer recruitment strategy right.

The early commitment from an influential first-team player provides necessary continuity.

"We've had lots of conversations, and he wants to be sure that we're going to be building a strong team," detailed Edwards.

"I think this shows our intent, this is the start of what I hope is a really positive summer for us."

According to Edwards, the player drives daily training sessions and demands high standards.

He will be a crucial figure in the dressing room next season.

"If your best players, the people that you want to keep around, are willing to stay and to fight, then it shows we're serious," insisted Edwards.

Matt Jackson, Wolves technical director, also expressed satisfaction.

"It's brilliant that he's bought into the project, it's a brilliant commitment from him," said Jackson.

"It shows the intentions around the quality of player that we want to have at the football club."

Jackson concluded by stating that the midfielder had gone on record early regarding his loyalty to the team.

He proved himself to be a man of his word.
