University of Toronto student Connor Macdonald secured selection on May 21, 2026, to represent the Cayman Islands at the upcoming 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
The international multi-sport event is scheduled to run from July 23 through August 2, 2026, according to an announcement by the Varsity Blues.

Macdonald, a kinesiology major from George Town, Cayman Islands, recently completed his second season with the Varsity Blues men's swimming team as a distance freestyle specialist.
Official records show he achieved top 10 results in both the 400-meter and 1500-meter freestyle events at the Ontario University Athletics championships this past season, including a career-best fifth-place finish in the 400-meter race.
The swimmer holds a consistent record of representing the Cayman Islands internationally, having previously competed at the 2023 Youth Commonwealth Games, the 2022 and 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, and the last three Caribbean Swimming Championships.
Swimming competitions at the Glasgow showcase will begin on July 24, 2026, featuring preliminary rounds in the morning and finals later that same day.

Preparation for the regional festivities in Scotland also extended to youth sports engagement on May 22, 2026.
