Liverpool legends Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson are set to bid farewell to Anfield during the final Premier League match of the season against Brentford on Sunday, May 24, 2026.

The duo, who both arrived at the club in the summer of 2017, will conclude their highly successful nine-year tenures after winning every possible major trophy with the Reds.

According to reports from BBC Sport, liverpoolfc. com, The Guardian, and Sky Sports, Salah and Robertson accumulated nine major honors together.

Their trophy haul includes two Premier League titles, one Champions League triumph, a FIFA Club World Cup, an FA Cup, a UEFA Super Cup, two League Cups, and an FA Community Shield.

Before their final game, the players posed together at Anfield alongside all the silverware they secured during their time on Merseyside.

Salah's Record and Departure

Salah departs having recorded 257 goals and 119 assists for Liverpool, averaging a goal involvement every 94 minutes across 35,326 minutes of football.

Sky Sports reported that the forward experienced his most productive goal-scoring season last year at age 32, netting a league-high 29 goals and providing 18 assists.

However, a breakdown in his relationship with head coach Arne Slot led to an agreement with the club hierarchy to terminate his contract one year early, allowing him to leave as a free agent this summer.

Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp reflected on the standards the Egyptian forward established at the club during his tenure.

"He set completely new standards for a professional football player - how hard you can work, how much you can invest in recovery and everything," said Klopp.

The German manager initially sought to sign Julian Brandt from Bayer Leverkusen in 2017 but was convinced by data analysts, including Michael Edwards, to secure Salah from AS Roma for £34.3 million instead.

Klopp also recalled his initial tactical assessments of Robertson when they first discussed the defender's £8 million transfer from Hull City.

"I like everything about what you're doing offensively and I don't think I like anything of the things you do defensively," said Klopp.

Robertson eventually established himself as a fixture in the lineup, contributing 60 Premier League assists.

Current Liverpool head coach Arne Slot praised the Scottish left-back for his tactical influence on modern football tactics.

"I think we all remember the press versus Man City, many, many managers showed that to their players.

I was one of them," said Slot.

Slot added that Robertson significantly altered the expectations and defensive dynamics required for the left-back role during his career at Anfield.

"He is maybe the player that changed that position into a player that constantly goes up and down, important on both sides of the pitch," said Slot.

Robertson's defensive partner and current club captain Virgil van Dijk emphasized the leadership qualities that the departing forward brought to the dressing room.

"Mo is not a big talker, but obviously he's a leader by example. So it's those types of things I'm 100% going to miss," said Van Dijk.

The legacy of Salah's goal-scoring prowess was also validated by the club's all-time leading scorer, Ian Rush, who highlighted the forward's competitive nature and banter during training sessions.

"Mohamed knew what he had to do to become a Liverpool legend and he took it to a different level," said Rush.

Rush recalled a lighthearted interaction where Salah questioned the historical tracking of his own scoring statistics.

"He couldn't believe how many goals I scored. So he actually said to me: 'Did you count your goals in training?'"

said Rush.

The Welsh striker further noted that Salah's performances in high-profile rivalries permanently cemented his status among the Anfield fan base.

"For me, what makes him special among the fans is the goals he scores against Everton and Manchester United," said Rush.

Salah scored 13 goals against Manchester United and nine against Everton during his nine seasons.

Former teammate Adam Lallana noted that Salah immediately demonstrated an understanding of English football upon his arrival, having previously played for Chelsea.

"In the first week of training he was just completely different to what we had. His attitude and application immediately was at the level.

What I could see straight away was that he'd already played in the Premier League.

He understood the mindset, the pace of the league, and it was like he had a big, big, big point to prove," said Lallana.

Salah's final appearance at Anfield against Brentford will be broadcast live on Sky Sports+, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.

m. local time.
