Nottingham Forest are weighing a January move for Fenerbahce defender Archie Brown, according to reports. The 24-year-old is also pursuing an England senior call-up.
Brown has impressed in Turkey with his attacking contributions and Champions League performances. He remains open to a future move to the Premier League.
Reports on October 14, 2026, said Forest are considering Brown as a potential addition to their left flank under manager Oliver Glasner.
Sports Mole previously reported the English club could revive its interest with a €15 million offer.
Fenerbahce value the versatile defender at €30 million. The gap between the clubs' valuations could complicate any transfer discussions.
Brown's Rise at Fenerbahce
Brown joined Fenerbahce from Gent in 2025 on a three-year contract after earlier spells at Lausanne-Sport and Gent.
According to Inside Futbol, he recorded 12 goal contributions in his first season at the Turkish club.
He has added two goals and one assist in 11 appearances this campaign. His European performances have strengthened his profile.
Reports from Suara Garut and Inside Futbol highlighted his contribution against Roma in the Champions League, where he scored an equalizer in a 1-1 draw.
He also scored against Lyon during the qualifying round, according to Suara Garut.
Brown discussed his international ambitions in an interview reported by Inside Futbol. He emphasized his belief that continued performances could earn him recognition from England manager Thomas Tuchel.
"I believe in myself and what I'm capable of," Brown said. "Sooner or later, I'll get called up to the national team."
Brown has so far represented England at the Under-20 level.
He made his debut in 2024 and registered one goal and one assist across two appearances, but has yet to receive a senior call-up.
Tuchel selected Newcastle United's Lewis Hall and Manchester City's Nico O'Reilly instead during the latest international break, according to Inside Futbol.
In comments reported by Suara Garut ahead of Fenerbahce's October 14 meeting with Aston Villa at Villa Park, Brown also discussed the personal importance of playing near the area where he grew up.
"I hope I put on a good performance for them. I'll tell them to bring popcorn," Brown said.
He also stressed that consistent displays remain central to his international ambitions. "I believe in myself and what I can do.
I just need to maintain my performances.
If you want to be selected for the national team, all you have to do is play well," Brown said.
Brown described Fenerbahce as a squad with considerable experience, including players who have won the UEFA Champions League.
He said the team had the quality to compete against any opponent.
The defender has not ruled out playing in England's top division.
His previous professional career included Lausanne-Sport from 2021 to 2023 and Gent from 2023 to 2025 before his move to Turkey.
"I have friends in the Premier League. It is one of the best leagues in the world.
If the right club and the right time come along in the future, you never know what might happen," Brown said.
Forest's potential interest comes as Glasner continues to favor a three-man defense with wing-backs.
Neco Williams is an established option on the left, but Brown's ability to operate across that flank could offer an alternative if the club pursues a January deal.
Fenerbahce's willingness to negotiate remains uncertain, with the Turkish club potentially reluctant to release Brown before securing suitable cover.
The reported gap between the clubs' respective valuations could also complicate any transfer discussions.
Separately, Football Insider reported that Forest do not consider signing another center-back a priority for January after spending £34 million on Ousmane Diomande during the summer.
The club expects Nikola Milenkovic to return from injury in the coming weeks, despite concerns about defensive depth following a 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace and a record of one clean sheet in the opening six Premier League matches.
