The New York Knicks hosted the San Antonio Spurs for Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, as both teams fought for momentum in an unexpected championship matchup.
The Spurs entered the contest trailing 2-1 in the best-of-seven series, aiming to reclaim homecourt advantage under the leadership of interim head coach Mitch Johnson.
Spurs Rely on Core Trio
San Antonio has relied heavily on Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, and De'Aaron Fox during their postseason run, according to elisportsnetwork.

However, the team has faced significant frontcourt size deficiencies against the Knicks, who have capitalized on the interior presence of Karl-Anthony Towns.
As reported by poundingtherock. com, the Spurs have struggled to find a reliable big forward to counter New York's rebounding dominance.
Sixth Man of the Year Keldon Johnson saw his minutes limited to 24 total over the first two games due to ongoing playoff production struggles.
Knicks Logo Designer Reflects on Creation
Off the court, the franchise's visual legacy remains tied to its iconic branding.
Graphic designer Michael Doret recounted the six-month creative process from 1991 that shaped the current New York Knicks logo, which still anchors the center court at Madison Square Garden.
"It's very meaningful to me," said Michael Doret, Designer. Doret noted that the NBA initially requested municipal architectural integration before the final layout was approved.
"And it's that acceptance by New York of me that, it just makes me very proud," said Michael Doret, Designer.
The designer originally presented more than 15 hand-drawn sketches to the league, including concepts incorporating the Empire State Building.
"But in the end, they, they nixed it. No pun intended," said Michael Doret, Designer.
The league ultimately selected a layout featuring block typography over a triangular backdrop and a basketball.
"It's almost like a subconscious thing that I kind of follow," said Michael Doret, Designer.
Josh Hart's Family Foundation
The ongoing championship series has galvanized the local community and player families alike.
Knicks guard Josh Hart, who has brought defensive resilience to the finals, credited his upbringing in Silver Spring, Maryland, for his athletic mindset.
"He didn't want me to be someone who gave up, or quit," recalled Josh Hart, Guard.
His father, Moses Hart, worked as a professional chef, while his mother, Pat Hart, worked as a waitress to support the family through financial hardships, including a devastating house fire when Josh was 15 years old.
"And it was all because I had the body language of giving up. That was the kind of person, and father, he was and is.
And it helped me establish that never-give-up mentality," recalled Josh Hart, Guard.
The family baseline of perseverance helped push Hart toward achieving the rank of Eagle Scout before pursuing his professional basketball career.
"I told him, 'I don't care if you're losing by 20 points — you go all out. You continue to play hard.
You give it your all. Because if you can't do that, you don't play,'" recalled Moses Hart, Father.
The elder Hart emphasized early on that full athletic effort was mandatory regardless of the scoreboard.
"I just wanted to instill him at a young age that you play hard for the team.
You don't pick and choose when you play hard," recalled Moses Hart, Father.
Hart eventually fulfilled his academic and scouting commitments under his father's guidance.
"I promised [Moses] that I would finish it, and he held me to that promise," told Josh Hart, Guard.
The player noted that the lesson built accountability.
"He made sure I was gonna be a man of my word," told Josh Hart, Guard.
Fan Frenzy and Next Game
Knicks fans have swarmed Manhattan in team colors to support the roster, as reported by the New York Times.
Local retailers and fashion editors noted a dramatic surge in vintage merchandise sales and custom apparel throughout the playoff run.
The Knicks entered the Game 4 matchup with an active 30-10 regular-season home record at Madison Square Garden, according to cbssports.
