The skating community is urgently searching for 26-year-old Dutch national team short tracker Sven Roes, who disappeared after leaving Oosterzee on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Roes was last seen at approximately 4:15 p. m.
at a Shell gas station in Muiden, driving a white Mitsubishi ASX with TeamNL decals, according to social media posts from his colleagues.
He had departed from the village of Oosterzee in the De Fryske Marren municipality at 3:15 p.
m. , about an hour before his last sighting.
Several prominent teammates, including Itzhak de Laat, Friso Emons, Jens and Melle van 't Wout, and Xandra Velzeboer, have distributed emergency appeals across social media networks, urging the public to watch out for him.
Local law enforcement confirmed that an official report has been filed and an active investigation is underway.
However, police stated they are not yet formally classifying the case as a missing person investigation.
