The Chicago Bulls have reached an agreement with free agent guard Norman Powell on a two-year, $45 million contract, according to ESPN reporters Shams Charania and Ohm Youngmisuk.
The deal was finalized on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, with Bulls executives working alongside Powell's representatives, Jason Glushon and Khalid McCaskill of Glushon Sports Management.
Powell, 33, joins Chicago after a standout season with the Miami Heat, where he earned his first career All-Star selection.
He averaged 21.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 47% from the field and 38% from three-point range, despite being limited to 58 games due to injuries.
Career Journey
The San Diego native began his NBA career with the Toronto Raptors, who selected him as a second-round pick in 2015.
He helped the franchise win its only championship in 2019.
Toronto traded Powell to the Portland Trail Blazers in March 2021. He was later dealt to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2022 before moving to Miami last July.
In addition to signing Powell, the Bulls finalized a two-year, $17 million contract extension to re-sign center Zach Collins and waived guard Kam Jones, as reported by Yahoo Sports.
