Bristol City has completed the signing of veteran winger Jed Wallace on a two-year contract, the club announced on Friday, July 3, 2026.
The 32-year-old midfielder joins as a free agent after leaving fellow Championship side West Bromwich Albion, where his contract expired at the end of last season.
Wallace brings extensive second-tier experience from his stints with Wolverhampton Wanderers, Millwall, and the Baggies.
He made over 350 appearances in the Championship and scored 15 goals in 140 league matches for West Brom over four seasons.
"I am really proud and excited to be here. I spoke to James and Michael and I am extremely impressed," Wallace said.
The experienced player highlighted the collective potential for the upcoming campaign and emphasized the importance of veteran leadership through the season's ups and downs.
"There is a huge opportunity for us this season to achieve something and I hope I can help the leaders here in the group already.
There will be plenty of ups and downs, so it is important the experienced players in the dressing room hold that together.
I am looking forward to getting out there and meeting all the fans," he added.
Bristol City manager Michael Skubala praised the acquisition, marking Wallace as his fourth summer reinforcement alongside Sam Tickle, Sam Greenwood, and Gibson Yah.
"We know what a brilliant player Jed is and to bring in someone of his quality who has played so much at the level is extremely positive," Skubala said.
"I am looking forward to working with him."
Sporting Director James Ellis emphasized that Wallace fulfills a strategic requirement to balance the youthful roster with established leadership.
"In our plan, it's important we help balance our youthful group with players who understand what it takes at this level," Ellis said.
"Jed brings this in abundance and will support the leadership group and the coaching staff to develop that edge we'll need to develop, grow and bring success.
He will help us all hugely both on and off the pitch."
Bristol City is scheduled to kick off their official Championship season at home against Wallace's former club, Millwall, on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
