Six judges have ranked France as the number one nation in the World Cup power rankings after the conclusion of the tournament's last 32 matches, according to The Guardian.

Les Bleus secured the top spot following a dominant display against Sweden, who struggled to contain the clinical French frontline ahead of the round of 16.

"I did say that I wanted to enjoy this World Cup to the fullest," forward Kylian Mbappé told reporters.

France showed immense offensive depth, with Michael Olise and Mbappé repeatedly breaking down organized defenses in their recent match.

Spain, Argentina, and Morocco Shine

Spain delivered an "almost perfect" victory against Austria, according to manager Luis de la Fuente.

Lamine Yamal continued his impressive form, while goalkeeper Unai Simón maintained a clean sheet throughout the tournament.

World champions Argentina also advanced after winning every match, though they endured a grueling 120-minute encounter against Cape Verde in the Miami heat on Friday.

Morocco secured their spot by forcing extra time against the Netherlands and winning the ensuing penalty shootout.

Head coach Mohamed Ouahbi highlighted the growing reputation of the African champions.

"I think Morocco has gained everybody's respect now," Ouahbi said. The victory sustained Morocco's momentum as they aim to replicate their semi-final achievement from four years ago.

Other nations securing round of 16 spots included Mexico, Brazil, Norway, England, the United States, Colombia, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium, Canada, Egypt, and Paraguay.

Switzerland advanced behind the strong performance of 20-year-old breakout star Johan Manzambi, who earned high praise from manager Murat Yakin.

"I think that you can really use Manzambi in every single position," Yakin said.

"It's just so much fun to work with him and see him perform like that. He is really evolving."

Paraguay also progressed by upsetting Germany in a penalty shootout despite holding only 26% possession.

Head coach Gustavo Alfaro credited the team's resilience to lessons learned from their heavy opening-game defeat against the United States.

"If we had not learned from the loss, we would not have been prepared for this match," Alfaro said.

"I told the players that we have lived through an epic evening."

The remaining tournament field consists of teams preparing for the next knockout round, while eliminated nations face post-tournament evaluations.
