Apple has secured its long-term semiconductor supply by extending a custom chip partnership with Broadcom through 2031. The announcement was made on Monday, July 6, 2026.

The extended agreement ensures Broadcom will continue developing and supplying application-specific integrated circuits and key wireless radio-frequency components for upcoming Apple devices.

This move comes amid rising component demand driven by artificial intelligence.

Following the announcement, Broadcom shares climbed nearly 5%, according to Yahoo Finance. Apple stock has advanced 45% so far this year.

Apple remains a critical revenue driver for Broadcom, accounting for approximately 20% of the chipmaker's total revenue.

The partnership continuation follows a series of global product price hikes by Apple on Macs, iPads, HomePods, and Apple TVs, which increased non-iPhone prices by $30 to $1,300 to offset costlier memory and storage parts.

Broader Industry Trend

The corporate move reflects a broader trend among American companies stabilizing tech pipelines.

Bloomberg and Reuters noted that Micron recently secured a vehicle chip supply contract with General Motors, as automakers and hyperscalers spend heavily on artificial intelligence systems.
