French Ligue 1 club Paris FC has appointed former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior as their new head coach on a two-year contract, the club announced on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old English coach returns to management in France just months after his dismissal from Chelsea in April following a short tenure at Stamford Bridge.
According to BBC Sport, Rosenior's deal includes an option for an additional season. He replaces veteran manager Antoine Kombouare at the capital club.
Paris FC, owned by the wealthy Arnault family with Red Bull as a minority stakeholder, finished 11th in Ligue 1 last season after earning promotion from the second tier.
The club statement noted that Rosenior was selected due to his high-level experience, ability to develop young players, and commitment to attractive, attacking football.
Co-owner Antoine Arnault said the dressing room responded positively to the decision, which aims to permanently establish the club in France's top division.
"Many players have expressed their enthusiasm, and we share it, as he perfectly embodies the project we want to implement to establish Paris FC permanently in Ligue 1 and to progress each year," Arnault said.
Rosenior previously managed Strasbourg, where he guided Europe's youngest squad across the top five leagues to a seventh-place finish during the 2024-25 season.
"I'm so happy to be the coach of Paris FC, I can't wait to get started with the new players," Rosenior said.
"It's a fantastic project."
Rosenior's former side Strasbourg played at Stade Jean-Bouin, the current home venue of Paris FC, which sits directly across the street from rival Paris Saint-Germain's stadium.
"I was in this stadium not long ago," Rosenior said.
The venue hosted the first capital city derby in French men's league football in over three decades last season, with Paris FC securing two home victories against PSG.
"There was a great atmosphere when I was head coach of Strasbourg and I can't wait to sample the atmosphere as the home head coach," he added.
The club statement on X praised Rosenior's tactical philosophy as a perfect alignment for the ongoing sporting project in Paris.
"Known for his ability to nurture young talent, Liam Rosenior is a perfect fit for the philosophy and sporting project championed by Paris FC.
His approach to ambitious, attractive, and attacking football resonates with the club's future ambitions," the statement read.
