Milan-based fine jewelry label Eéra designed a custom engagement ring for pop star Dua Lipa after actor Callum Turner bypassed traditional heritage houses to commission the piece.
The singer debuted the unique jewelry piece following her May 31, 2026, civil ceremony wedding in London and subsequent June celebrations in Sicily.
The bespoke ring features a round-cut natural diamond estimated to weigh three carats or more, securely fixed within a low-set, semi-bezel construction.
This unique stone is paired with a substantial 18-karat yellow gold cigar-style band measuring between 6 and 12 millimeters.
Turner finalized the distinctive silhouette after consulting with Lipa's sister and closest friends.
The design process allowed co-founders Romy Blanga and Chiara Capitani to apply their established hardware-forward industrial aesthetic to traditional bridal jewelry.
Design Philosophy and Inspiration
"We've always been fascinated by objects that are designed purely for function," said Blanga, co-founder of Eéra, as reported by Elle.
Capitani noted that the brand's signature aesthetic grew from a simple snap hook discovered at a Tokyo vintage market in 2019.
The brand's design language frequently transforms utilitarian items into high-end statements like personalized carabiner necklaces and diamond-trimmed earrings.
"The project was deeply personal from the beginning," stated Blanga during an interview with Elle.
Lipa has long been an early supporter of the Milanese brand, frequently wearing their signature statement earrings during her Future Nostalgia tour.
The singer routinely pairs her new custom engagement ring alongside her existing stack of Cartier and Bulgari pieces.
"We are deeply honored to have been part of such a meaningful moment for Dua Lipa.
As a longstanding friend of the brand, she has championed our designs throughout her Future Nostalgia tour, often wearing our signature statement earrings.
In creating this ring, we sought to reflect her distinctive blend of strength, confidence, and timeless elegance, resulting in a piece that feels both powerful and enduring," Blanga told Only Natural Diamonds.
The chunky aesthetic taps into an ongoing bridal jewelry shift toward personalized and sculptural cigar bands.
Similar bold styles have recently been embraced by other high-profile figures, including Margaret Qualley and Selena Gomez.
"Our inspiration comes from many different worlds—contemporary art, industrial design, architecture, travel, and everyday objects that can be reinterpreted in unexpected ways.
The signature EÉRA carabiner, for example, transforms a functional object into something precious and emotional. That same mindset carries into bespoke projects," Blanga explained to Only Natural Diamonds.
The creative duo prefers utilizing natural diamonds due to their distinctiveness and permanent nature.
The designers allow the specific traits of each chosen gemstone to dictate the proportions and layout of the final jewelry pieces.
"Rather than starting from convention, we begin with a conversation and a story, then translate that into a piece that feels sculptural, modern, and deeply personal while remaining wearable.
Every commission becomes an opportunity to create something that reflects both the client's identity and our design language," Blanga added via Only Natural Diamonds.
The unique build choices directly contrast with the high-profile solitaire settings that have dominated celebrity engagements in recent years.
The designers assert that longevity in jewelry comes from choosing architectural lines over passing fads.
"For us, a ring becomes timeless when it has a strong point of view rather than following what's fashionable at a particular moment.
At EÉRA, we believe longevity comes from balancing clean, architectural lines with emotional significance," Blanga shared with Only Natural Diamonds.
Eéra's founders expressed intent to keep expanding their signature functional-luxe collections while open to accommodating more modern bridal commissions.
They noted that contemporary luxury consumers increasingly seek intentional, structural utility over simple decoration.
"Every detail should feel intentional, from the proportions to the way the stone interacts with the setting.
An engagement ring should express the personality of the person wearing it while remaining beautifully crafted enough to be worn every day and appreciated for decades.
When design is honest and meaningful, it naturally transcends trends," Blanga asserted to Only Natural Diamonds.
Prior to establishing the brand in 2019, Capitani worked in fashion consulting while Blanga specialized in public relations and brand communications.
Their client roster has expanded from Lipa to include Hailey Bieber, Florence Pugh, and Vittoria Ceretti.
"Natural diamonds carry a unique combination of rarity, individuality, and permanence. Every stone has its own characteristics, which makes the creative process highly personal.
Rather than designing around a standard formula, we like to let the diamond guide the piece, highlighting its shape, proportions, and character through thoughtful design," Blanga stated to Only Natural Diamonds.
Lipa's public choice has sparked wide discussion across social media platforms like TikTok regarding modern bridal preferences.
The designers view the reception as validation for pushing creative boundaries within the jewelry industry.
"What has been especially rewarding is seeing people connect not just with the ring itself, but with the idea that an engagement ring can reflect someone's individual style rather than follow convention.
It became part of a much wider conversation about modern bridal jewelry and individuality, which aligns perfectly with our philosophy," Blanga noted to Elle.
The design house plans to maintain its focus on hardware-inspired aesthetics, clean lines, and contemporary Italian craftsmanship for future seasonal rollouts.
"People today are looking for luxury that feels authentic rather than purely decorative," Blanga concluded to Elle.
