Broadcaster RTL has confirmed that the upcoming finale of The Voice of Holland will not be broadcast live.
The show will maintain the pre-recorded format used in the previous season.
This decision comes despite past objections from the show's presenters.
According to television expert Tina Nijkamp, host Chantal Janzen had previously expressed a desire for a different format in future seasons.
RTL has chosen to keep the production structure, coaching lineup, and rounds identical to last year. Nijkamp shared these insights on her podcast Tina's TV Update.
Nijkamp also reported that a potential shift to a joint production with Belgium in subsequent seasons could lower operating costs.
Such a move might eventually bring back live finals, which she described as a needed boost for the program.
The current coaching staff holds two-year contracts.
Nijkamp stated that the musical duo Suzan & Freek would likely remain due to their popularity in Belgium, provided Freek's health permits.
Meanwhile, coaches Dinand Woesthoff and Willie Wartaal are expected to exit.
Regarding the hosting lineup, Nijkamp anticipated that Janzen will remain with the franchise.
However, co-host Edson da Graça faces an uncertain future and could be replaced by Belgian presenter Koen Wauters.
