Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Hull City striker Kyle Joseph for a fee of £5 million.

The 24-year-old has agreed to a four-year contract at the Riverside Stadium.

The deal was finalized on July 10, 2026, after negotiations between the two Championship clubs were revived. A previous agreement had collapsed last month.

Transfer Background

Joseph successfully passed his medical examination before securing the move.

Hull City had initially attempted to sell the striker in June to avoid a Financial Fair Play penalty.

That earlier deal stalled when Middlesbrough's sale of Hayden Hackney to Everton faced delays.

Hull subsequently resolved their immediate financial issues by raising £9 million through alternative player sales.

The Tigers offloaded Ivor Pandur, Akin Famewo, and academy player Aidon Shehu to comply with Football League spending regulations.

Player Profile

Joseph recorded seven goals and five assists in 27 Championship starts for Hull City last season.

He notably helped the Tigers defeat Middlesbrough 1-0 in the promotion play-off final at Wembley Stadium.

The forward is currently recovering from ankle surgery following an injury sustained during the play-off semifinal against Millwall.

He is expected to return to training in late July or early August in Portugal.
