Four women have accused actor and musician Jared Leto of criminal sexual conduct involving incidents when they were teenagers.
The allegations, detailed in a BBC documentary, span from 2002 to 2016 and include claims of sexual assault and grooming.
One woman alleges she was sexually assaulted by Leto in a motel bathroom at age 17.
Another claims that at 19, she was threatened with sexual assault after being left alone with him in a hotel room.
A third woman described having underage sex with Leto in California at 17, which would be statutory rape under state law.
The fourth accuses him of grooming through repeated sexually explicit phone calls at age 16 and refusing to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding their relationship.
The BBC corroborated several accounts through messages, photographs, and testimonies from friends and family.
Two former band crew members expressed discomfort over Leto's interactions with teenage girls, noting that young women were often invited backstage or to the band’s recording locations.
"Age is just a number, and anyway, we’re in Europe," Leto reportedly told one woman who raised concerns about the age of consent, according to the documentary.
Isabel, who alleges assault in 2002 at age 17, described the incident occurring in a "dingy gross motel" after meeting Leto at a Las Vegas hotel.
She said, "I don't think there was many words exchanged and he opened the shower curtain and started kissing me."
She added that she pulled away and told him she wanted to leave.
Another former crew member, who asked to be called Brad, said that during arena tours in the 2010s, Jared Leto directly requested female models be given VIP tickets, which made some staff uncomfortable.
Despite repeated attempts, Leto has not responded to the allegations presented by the BBC.
He is a 54-year-old actor known for roles in films such as Dallas Buyers Club, Blade Runner 2049, and Suicide Squad, and is also the frontman of the band Thirty Seconds to Mars, which plans a UK and European tour next spring.
The documentary also references more than 120 historical allegations against Leto found online, many unverified.
Last year, a Los Angeles DJ publicly accused Leto of assault at age 17, prompting others to come forward with similar claims.
Leto denied the allegations in a 2025 article where nine women accused him of sexual impropriety.
