Model Brooks Nader has joined the cast of the upcoming Fox series reboot of Baywatch, playing the role of Captain Selene on Zuma Beach.
Filming for the 12-episode show is underway in Venice Beach, Los Angeles, as reported by Daily Star.
Nader's character serves as the sharp-tongued captain who clashes with Baywatch Captain Hobie Buchannon over differing lifesaving philosophies.
The storyline deepens after Buchannon brings his daughter Charlie onto the lifeguard team, according to Yahoo.
To prepare for the physical demands of the role, Nader underwent rigorous daily swim and lifeguard instruction alongside her castmates.
"I'm having acting lessons, I'm going to surprise everyone, and swimming lessons every day. I have the hardest swim trainer ever," said Nader.
The training regimen included comprehensive instruction on life-saving protocols and emergency response techniques to ensure accurate representation on screen.
"We did three or four weeks of lifeguard training, swim training," said Nader.
The emphasis on proper safety instruction proved crucial to the production team during the early stages of filming.
"Actually pay attention to the skill of CPR and how you actually administer it because we've had hundreds of letters a day sent to the Baywatch franchise from people all over the world saying, 'I saved my daughter's life because I watched Baywatch and I learned CPR,'" said the founder of the Baywatch franchise.
The responsibility of accurately depicting rescue operations influenced Nader's approach to her daily preparation on set.
"I felt a responsibility to take the training seriously because you really don't know who you could be saving that's watching at home," said Nader.
Taking on the television role prompted significant changes in Nader's personal daily health routines and lifestyle choices, as reported by Us Weekly.
"I'm eating a lot healthier, and I'm not partying as much, which, you know me, that's pretty hard.
But I'm doing it, and I'm working out a lot and taking care of my mind, body, that whole situation.
So, it's a new era, a good one," said Nader.
Wearing the show's signature red swimwear served as a constant reminder of the project's cultural legacy.
"It's been amazing. It's a pinch-me moment, for sure.
Every time I put on [the famous red swimsuit] every single day, even if it's 4 a. m.
, I still well up a little, and I'm like, 'Let's do this!'" said Nader.
Nader expressed enthusiasm about stepping into the iconic franchise and connecting with its global legacy, according to Entertainment Tonight.
"My character is Selene and she's basically me — she's very sassy — and she is a total boss," said Nader.
The original television series aired from 1989 to 2001, reaching a peak global audience of over 1.1 billion weekly viewers in 1996.
"Everyone grew up on Baywatch and it's such an iconic series, so I'm so honoured to be a part of it," said Nader.
During a break from production, Nader documented her Mediterranean vacation on social media, sharing outfit posts on Instagram while visiting St. Tropez.
"Love Thy Summer 💃💃," said Nader.
Her family and colleagues reacted directly to the vacation photos online.
"Yes indeeeeed," said Grace Ann Nader, her sister.
Celebrity friends also joined the online commentary following the post.
"Goddess," said Mary Holland Nader, another sister.
Fellow reality stars voiced their support in the public comments section.
"My cutie," said Leah Kateb, a media personality.
The positive reactions continued across her social media feed.
"Lost for words 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥," said Maura Higgins, a television personality.
A source told Daily Star that Nader recently ended a casual relationship with actor Taron Egerton.
The reboot series, which also stars Stephen Amell, Jessica Belkin, Shay Mitchell, Livvy Dunne, Ashley Moore, and Thaddeus LaGrone, is scheduled to air during the 2026-2027 broadcast season.
