Tom Holland has spoken highly of his wife and co-star Zendaya, saying she elevates his performance in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
During recent media appearances in late July 2026, the 30-year-old actor discussed how Zendaya's presence on set improved the movie.
Holland on Zendaya's Impact
Speaking to E!
News at the Los Angeles premiere on July 27, Holland said, "The truth is that she raises the game.
She's the type of actress where every scene is better when she's in it. She raises the stakes for everyone."
He also praised her dedication, noting, "She's truthful in every decision she makes as an actress.
Any time that I get to share the screen with her, I'm very lucky."
Holland and Zendaya previously worked together in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.
Fan Engagement and Preparation
For the fourth installment of the franchise, Holland prepared by engaging with fan culture online to guide his creative decisions.
On July 28, he appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where the host mentioned his own habit of watching online superhero commentary.
Meyers said, "I spend a lot of my day watching YouTube and podcasts on Spider-Man content.
My wife is less patient about it because I'm not in the film or connected to it in any way.
She feels like it's a waste of time."
Holland responded with a lighthearted contrast: "My wife is in the film, so…"
He also reflected on his relationship with the franchise's fanbase, saying, "I've always felt a great sense of responsibility when it comes to the fans of Spider-Man.
They've been so kind to me over the years and I felt so lucky to have had the experience I had on the third Spider-Man movie."
To ensure the new film met expectations, he spent considerable time reviewing community feedback online before filming.
"So, for me to come back and do it again, I really wanted to make sure that what we did was exactly what the fans wanted," he said.
"I spent ages online just watching podcasts and looking at what people wanted, what they didn't like."
Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows the characters from Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home.
