The Kansas City Chiefs will visit the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium on September 27, 2026, aiming to improve to 3-0 in Week 3 of the NFL season.
Kansas City enters the matchup after wins over the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts, scoring more than 30 points in each game.
The Chiefs defense allowed just 176 total yards in Week 1 but gave up 329 yards and no sacks against the Colts in Week 2.
Spagnuolo Addresses Defensive Inconsistency
Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo spoke about the unit's uneven play during a Thursday press conference.
"We're probably not as good as we were in the first week, and hopefully not as bad as we were in the second," Spagnuolo said.
"Somewhere in the middle. We were happy we won."
He added that he was proud of how the team responded after a big play in overtime and hopes the win will spark better performance this week.
Miami opens its home schedule after starting 0-2 on the road, where they were outscored 62-26.
Starting quarterback Malik Willis has the highest sack rate in the NFL through two games, and the Dolphins offense has generated 26 first downs compared to Kansas City's 48.
ESPN NFL analyst Seth Walder highlighted Chiefs defensive end George Karlaftis as a key player to watch.
"Chiefs edge George Karlaftis will record at least two sacks," Walder said. "I've long thought Karlaftis was a solid, but not great, edge rusher.
But this season he's showing a little more, despite having failed to record a sack yet."
Walder noted Karlaftis has 10 pass rush wins, tied for fifth most, and will face a Dolphins offense led by Willis, who has the NFL's highest sack rate.
Karlaftis leads all Kansas City defensive linemen with 102 defensive snaps through two games.
