Ali Krieger is competing on Season 39 of The Amazing Race alongside her longtime friend and former teammate Joanna Lohman.
Her return to television comes as she navigates significant changes in her personal life, including a divorce and a new relationship.
Since 2024, Krieger has been in a relationship with Jen Beattie, a former Scottish professional soccer player and current CBS Sports analyst.
Beattie retired from professional soccer in January 2023 and previously dated Love Island UK winner Amber Gill before their split in 2023.
Krieger and Beattie publicly confirmed their relationship in November 2024.
Krieger was previously married to Ashlyn Harris, with whom she shares joint custody of their two adopted children, daughter Sloane and son Ocean.
The couple announced the adoption of their daughter in February 2021 and their son in August 2022.
Their marriage ended in September 2023, following Harris's revelation that she no longer felt like a priority in the relationship.
Harris cited Krieger's dedication to her soccer career and family as factors contributing to the split.
In a 2024 interview, Harris described a lack of intimacy in their marriage, saying, "I didn't know how to tell people that, like, oh, my wife doesn't want to touch me."
She further explained, "I think she loved the game so much and all she knew was how to sacrifice her life for the game.
Then when you add children, which is a whole different layer, I just felt like I wasn't a priority."
Harris suggested an open marriage to try to save their relationship but realized it was not what she wanted and moved out in early summer 2023.
Krieger described herself as blindsided by the divorce filing and expressed gratitude for the support she received amid misinformation about her personal life.
In an Instagram Story, she wrote, "I'm overwhelmed and grateful by the outpouring of love and support I've received this year.
However, amidst this warmth, I've also had to confront a wave of dishonesty and misinformation regarding my marriage and personal life."
She added, "Above all else, my unwavering priority remains the protection and well-being of my children. I promise to share more when my heart feels ready.
In this vulnerable time, I humbly ask for privacy and understanding from all involved, as I grapple with the profound changes in my personal life."
Harris acknowledged the pain caused by the separation and underscored her efforts to preserve the marriage despite her unhappiness.
In a 2026 interview, Harris said, "You try and you try and you try and you keep trying to make it work and you don't want to fail.
You don't want to give up. But also, life is really short and really long at the same time.
I get one shot at this. There's no second act.
If I'm feeling this way in my 30s and I'm so unhappy that I don't want to get out of bed, am I really serving?"
Following their split, Harris married actress Sophia Bush in 2025.
Krieger continues to compete on The Amazing Race Season 39 while managing these personal transitions.
