Racing analysts have previewed Saturday's meetings at Newmarket and York, naming contenders for the Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes, the Cesarewitch Handicap and several juvenile contests.

According to Sporting Life, the Newmarket card features the 29-runner Club Godolphin Cesarewitch Handicap alongside the Darley Dewhurst Stakes.

Telegraph Media Group reported that eight races from Newmarket and York were scheduled for ITV coverage.

Newmarket contenders

Sporting Life highlighted Marco Botti-trained Notable Dream as a contender in the Group 3 Emirates Autumn Stakes at Newmarket.

The analysis said the two-year-old could improve when stepping up to one mile after a strong run at the track.

Notable Dream finished second in the Group 3 Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket on his previous appearance, showing late progress that suggested the longer distance could suit him.

Telegraph Media Group identified Aidan O'Brien's Sergei Diaghilev as a leading option in the same race.

The colt previously won a Listed race at Gowran before finishing second in the Group 2 Champagne Stakes at Doncaster.

The Dewhurst Stakes drew attention from both previews, with Sporting Life assessing Charlie Appleby's Desert Castle as a major contender after his Group 2 Champagne Stakes victory.

Telegraph Media Group also selected the colt after two wins from two starts.

The Cesarewitch Handicap remained one of the most competitive races on the Newmarket schedule.

Telegraph Media Group selected James Owen-trained Naval Tribute, while Sporting Life said it found the race difficult to assess because of the large field and wide range of contenders.

York selections

At York, Sporting Life focused on Pellitory in the Sky Bet Trophy Handicap, describing the David O'Meara-trained runner as improving after recent performances.

The analysis pointed to his Ayr Gold Cup victory and a fourth-place finish in the Challenge Cup at Ascot.

Sporting Life also highlighted George Boughey's Divine Whisper in the Listed Sky Bet Rockingham Stakes at York.

The publication reported that the filly had not raced since finishing third in the Alice Keppel Conditions Stakes at Goodwood on July 29.

Telegraph Media Group also assessed other York contenders, including Big Cigar and Angels Passing in the Rockingham Stakes, and Water To Wine in a Class 2 Handicap.

The publication noted several runners were stepping up or dropping in class based on previous results.
