New York City police have arrested and charged a 36-year-old man with murder following the death of a 63-year-old woman whose body was discovered in Central Park on Sunday morning.
Jonathan Robles faces charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon, authorities said late Sunday evening.
Records show Robles resides at a homeless shelter near the Hudson Yards neighborhood.

First responders answered a 911 call reporting an unconscious person near East Drive and East 74th Street around 9:43 a.
m.
Emergency medical services declared the woman dead at the scene shortly after 10 a. m.
The victim was found barefoot, covered in dirt, and suffering from severe head trauma and multiple stab wounds inside a gazebo near the Central Park Boathouse.
Law enforcement officials noted the discovery came hours after a Nor'easter passed through New York City, and both the victim and suspect appeared to be homeless.
Police have not publicly released the victim's identity while they await family notification.
