Nick Wayne picked up a victory over Chris Jericho at AEW WrestleDream 2026, closing a bruising match with an inside cradle pinfall.
The bout saw Wayne absorb several high-impact attacks and submission attempts before finding the decisive counter.
Jericho controlled the early going after the two exchanged spit at the opening.
He took the fight to ringside and delivered a Death Valley Driver on the steel steps, then photographed Wayne with a professional camera.
Wayne shifted the momentum with a moonsault onto Jericho outside the ring.
Back inside, Jericho countered Wayne's World with a Codebreaker, followed by a dive from the top rope to the outside and a powerbomb from the corner.
Late Exchange Decides the Match
Jericho applied the Walls of Jericho, but Wayne reached the ropes to escape.
Wayne regained control by spitting water into Jericho's face before delivering a Sliced Bread on the ring apron and a 450 splash.
Jericho survived the splash and kicked out after Wayne connected with Wayne's World, escaping another pin attempt after the move.
The closing sequence began when Jericho applied the Walls of Jericho again.
Wayne responded with a low blow while the referee was distracted, but Jericho revealed he was wearing a protective cup and retaliated with a low blow of his own.
Jericho then attempted to finish the match with the Judas Effect.
Wayne collapsed before Jericho could complete the attack and caught him in an inside cradle, securing the pinfall victory.
The result was also noted in Fightful's wrestling roundup, which highlighted Wayne's win over Jericho.
The roundup also reported that Jericho had surpassed 300 million views on TikTok and announced the lineup for the Jericho Cruise Oceanic Championship Tournament.
