Polestar has provided an update on its all-electric 6 roadster, revealing that development is nearly complete but the car is not a priority for the company.
Unveiled in 2022, the Polestar 6 shares most of its components with the Polestar 5 sedan.

Both models are built on the Polestar Performance Architecture (PPA), which has streamlined development.
Key Hardware Ready
Graeme Lambert, Polestar’s product communications boss, said the platform and key hardware are essentially ready. “It is so closely related to the Polestar 5,” he explained.
When asked if the car was 95 percent complete, Lambert did not dispute the figure but noted he would “hesitate to say it is 100 percent.”
Areas still needing finalization include the folding hardtop and rear seats. The car uses the same 112 kWh battery pack, electric motors, and suspension as the Polestar 5.
Prioritizing Other Models
Polestar began taking $25,000 deposits for a special LA Concept version in 2022, with an initial launch planned for 2026.

However, financial concerns have delayed the project.
The company is now prioritizing the second-generation Polestar 2 and the upcoming Polestar 7 compact SUV.
“The key for us is to deliver [the 7 and 2] correctly, drive the business forward, and then be in a position to do something else after,” Lambert said.
US Launch Uncertain
If the Polestar 6 gets the green light for production, its availability in the United States is not guaranteed.

The roadster would likely be built in China alongside the Polestar 5, exposing it to 100% tariffs that could cripple demand.
