Tiafoe's Path to the Second Round
Tiafoe advanced by defeating Diego Dedura in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, in one hour and 34 minutes.
The American did not lose his serve but had to save eight break points to secure the victory.
A win would give Tiafoe his fifth quarterfinal appearance of the 2026 season.
He has won three ATP titles in his career, including one on clay at Houston in 2023.

Ugo Carabelli's Comeback Victory
Ugo Carabelli earned his spot by rallying from a set down to beat Kamil Majchrzak 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Majchrzak, returning from injury, dominated the opening set before the Argentine took control.
Ugo Carabelli has a 63.4% career win rate on clay, compared to Tiafoe's 58.3%.
Despite being ranked 47 places lower, the Argentine has defeated two former top-10 players on clay this season: Matteo Berrettini and Karen Khachanov.
