Golf handicapper Brady Kannon has cast doubt on Scottie Scheffler's chances of winning back-to-back titles at the 2026 CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
The tournament is set to begin Thursday, May 21, 2026, at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas.

Scheffler dominated the event last year, finishing eight strokes ahead of runner-up Erik van Rooyen on the par-71, 7,385-yard course.
Despite his previous success, Kannon, an industry expert with over 30 years of experience, said he is avoiding the reigning champion.
Putting Concerns
Kannon noted Scheffler's recent putting struggles on Bentgrass greens at Aronimink, where he ranked near the bottom of the field.
He also pointed out that Scheffler's putting has declined over three consecutive weeks, including at The Masters and Doral.
"Will Scheffler contend for the win this week in his title defense?

Almost certainly, but with the way he has been going, do I want to bet that he will win at such a short price?
No, thank you," Kannon said.
He added that Scheffler is likely to regress from last year's exceptional 31-under par performance at Craig Ranch.
Kannon believes much of this week's event will be decided by putting, making a bet on Scheffler at +180 unattractive.
