The Korea Baseball Organization announced that the league surpassed 4 million spectators for the 2026 season in a record 222 games on Thursday.

A total of 68,838 fans attended five games across South Korea, pushing cumulative attendance to 4,035,771.

This milestone was reached eight games faster than the previous record set in 2025, which required 230 games to cross the 4 million mark.

Attendance Growth Across All Teams

Average game attendance this season stands at 18,179 fans, an increase of about 8 percent compared to the 16,839 average recorded at the same point last year.

All 10 professional franchises have reported higher average home attendance than the previous season.

Thursday's schedule included two sellout crowds, bringing the total number of sold-out games to 130 out of 222 played.

The single-season record for sellouts is 331, set in 2025.

Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark drew a sellout crowd of 17,000 fans for the game between the Hanwha Eagles and the Lotte Giants.

Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul attracted 16,593 spectators for the NC Dinos versus Doosan Bears matchup, while Gwangju-Kia Champions Field had 15,082 fans for the Kia Tigers and LG Twins contest.

Pohang Baseball Stadium recorded a capacity crowd of 12,120 for the Samsung Lions and KT Wiz game, and Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul saw 8,043 fans attend the Kiwoom Heroes and SSG Landers matchup.

If current trends continue, the KBO League is on track to surpass last season's historic 12.3 million total attendance and could exceed 13 million fans for the first time.
