Akin will pitch ahead of Chris Bassitt, according to reports from MLB. com and FanDuel.
This is not the first time Akin has filled the opening role for Bassitt.
He previously did so on May 10 against the Athletics, pitching one inning and recording two strikeouts, as reported by Jake Rill of MLB.

This season, Akin holds a 13.50 ERA, a 1.96 WHIP, and an 8:2 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 8.2 innings with the major-league club.
