The Milwaukee Brewers used a repeated batting lineup for the first time in the 2026 season on Friday, May 22, ending a streak of 47 consecutive unique lineups to open the year.

The National League Central leaders fielded the same order from a previous 9-3 victory over Shota Imanaga as they started a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at American Family Field.

Christian Yelich served as the designated hitter, with an outfield of Jake Bauers, Jackson Chourio, and Sal Frelick.

William Contreras started behind the plate. The infield consisted of Luis Rengifo, Joey Ortiz, Brice Turang, and Andrew Vaughn.

Manager Unaware of Streak

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said he had no idea about the end of the unique lineup sequence before the game.

Right-hander Logan Henderson took the mound for Milwaukee, carrying a 2.81 ERA and a 20:2 strikeout-to-walk ratio across three starts since rejoining the rotation on May 3.

Los Angeles countered with left-handed pitcher Justin Wrobleski, who holds a 6-1 record with a 2.49 ERA despite averaging 4.8 strikeouts per nine innings this season.

The Dodgers lineup featured Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Kyle Tucker at the top, followed by Andy Pages, Max Muncy, Teoscar Hernández, Dalton Rushing, and Hyeseong Kim.
