An underwater drone searching for a snowmobile in Maine discovered a 1974 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 resting 55 feet below the surface of Sebago Lake.
Jason Smith was exploring the lake with his drone when he spotted the muscle car.

He had been hoping to find an old snowmobile he had seen on a previous trip.
The Camaro Z28 was located in the channel between Frye Island and the mainland. Authorities recovered the vehicle and identified it through its VIN.

Investigators are working to determine how the car ended up in the lake.

One theory suggested it slipped off the Frye Island ferry, but ferry operators dismissed that possibility.
