The 2026 Isle of Man TT Races officially began on Monday, May 25, 2026. Mountain Road closures started at 8:45 a.

m. to allow the opening newcomer and timed qualifying sessions under sunny skies.

Organizers confirmed the rest of the course closed at 10:00 a. m.

for a full day of practice across multiple classes. These include Supersport, Sidecar, Superbike, and Superstock.

All roads are set to reopen by 9:30 p. m.

Key Highlights of the 2026 Event

This year's festival marks the 30th anniversary of veteran racer John McGuinness making his debut at the event, according to crash.

McGuinness is scheduled to compete in the Superbike and Superstock categories with Honda, leading the field as the first rider on the road.

A total of 10 races are scheduled throughout the fortnight.

The event introduces the new Sportsbike class to replace the traditional Supertwin category with expanded machinery eligibility regulations.

Practice sessions run from May 25 through May 29.

The first official race day is Saturday, May 30, featuring the Superstock TT 1 and Sidecar TT 1 contests.

As reported by manxradio. com, Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson is overseeing the international event for his 14th consecutive year.

Thompson shared the update via the organization's WhatsApp channel from the grandstand, noting the ideal weather conditions for the opening sessions.

The fortnight of racing concludes on Saturday, June 6, 2026, with the six-lap Senior TT race.
