BYD has expanded its Shark 6 pickup range in Australia with two new models: the Performance and the Dynamic Cab-Chassis.
The Performance variant upgrades to a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, boosting total output to 469 hp (350 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm).

This represents a significant increase over the existing Premium model's 430 hp and 479 lb-ft. The 0-100 km/h sprint drops from 5.7 to 5.5 seconds.
Improved Towing and Off-Road Capability
The Performance model can now tow up to 7,716 lbs (3,500 kg), matching the standard for mid-sized pickups like the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux.
The Premium is limited to 5,511 lbs (2,500 kg).
A 772 lbs (350 kg) tow ball download rating is also included. All Shark 6 variants use double-wishbone suspension front and rear, avoiding traditional leaf springs.
A new Crawl mode adjusts torque to prevent wheel slip on rocks and steep terrain, enhancing off-road capability.

It features a more basic bed aimed at tradesmen.
Its braked towing capacity is currently 5,511 lbs, but a 2.0-liter version later this year will raise it to 7,716 lbs.
