Manchester City midfielder Rodri announced on Monday that he will postpone any decision about his professional future until after the upcoming World Cup.
The 29-year-old is in the final year of his contract with the English club, and has been linked with a move to Real Madrid.

Real Madrid presidential candidate Enrique Riquelme, who is challenging Florentino Perez in an upcoming election, recently named Rodri as a potential transfer target.
Rodri spoke during a press conference while joining his Spanish national teammates in Madrid for a pre-tournament training camp ahead of the World Cup, which will be held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“We’re here to talk about the World Cup. Everything that concerns my future, I’ll wait until the end of the World Cup,” Rodri said.
The midfielder acknowledged that contract situations naturally generate transfer rumors but said he remains calm about the speculation.
“When a player is nearing the end of his contract, it’s normal for names to come up but I am very calm, I know where I stand and if there hadn’t been a World Cup, perhaps things might be different now,” he added.

Rodri's Career at Manchester City
Rodri joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid seven years ago for a then-club record fee of £62.8 million, and has since made nearly 300 appearances.
During his time in England, he has won four Premier League titles and a Champions League trophy, scoring the decisive goal in the 2023 final against Inter Milan.
His performances for club and country, including a Euro 2024 victory with Spain, earned him the Ballon d’Or in 2024.
However, Rodri has faced recent challenges with consistency after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament tear in September 2024.
