Real Madrid has reportedly entered the race to sign Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries, a move that could reshape the transfer market for Atalanta's Marco Palestra.

According to reports, Dumfries is among the players likely to leave Inter Milan in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Dutch international has a release clause of €25 million in his contract.

This clause is valid only for clubs outside Italy and is set to expire in mid-July.

Football insiders Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio indicate that Real Madrid is looking to activate the clause.

Di Marzio adds that the 15-time Champions League winners have already made an initial approach.

The potential sale of Dumfries could provide Inter with the funds needed to pursue Palestra, a highly-rated Italian prospect with a significant market value.

Atalanta Sets Firm Asking Price

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that an opening offer of €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses would not meet Atalanta's demands.

The Bergamo club is firm on its valuation of the young talent.

Atalanta management insists they will not sell Palestra for any amount below €50 million.
