Fabio Grosso has officially resigned as head coach of Sassuolo, the Serie A club confirmed.
The decision came after an agreement to terminate the contracts of Grosso and his coaching staff.

The 48-year-old took over Sassuolo in July 2024, when the club was in Serie B.
In his debut season, Grosso led Sassuolo back to the top flight, finishing 11th in Serie A this term.
Grosso, a 2006 World Cup winner with Italy, scored the decisive penalty in the final shootout against France.
Potential Move to Fiorentina
Italian media report that Grosso is heavily linked with Fiorentina.
Fiorentina endured a difficult 2025-26 campaign under Stefano Pioli and Paolo Vanoli, finishing 15th and securing survival.

A move to Fiorentina would be Grosso's first chance to manage a historic Italian top-flight club.
His only previous experience at a high-profile club was with French side Lyon in 2023.
That tenure lasted just three months, with only one win in seven matches.
Grosso's time in France began with a hospitalization after an attack on the team bus.
