Former captain Rohit Kumar Paudel contributed 21 runs off 20 balls, while opener Kushal Bhurtel was dismissed for 21 runs and Aasif Sheikh departed for one run.
Before the semifinal, Bhurtel achieved a rare T20I milestone on June 5, 2026, by scoring back-to-back centuries in the tournament.
He smashed 126 runs from 54 balls against Malaysia, following an earlier century against China where he hit six sixes in a single over off spinner Chen Zhou Yue.
Bhurtel became the 10th male cricketer in T20I history to hit consecutive hundreds, joining an elite group including Rilee Rossouw, Sanju Samson, Tilak Varma, and Phil Salt.
Nepal amassed 275 runs in that group stage match to defeat Malaysia by 167 runs, with Aasif Sheikh also smashing 68 runs from 24 deliveries.
Despite the heavy defeat, Malaysia had already secured qualification for the 2026 Asian Games due to an earlier win over China.
