The 2026 grass-court tennis swing officially began on June 7 in the Netherlands with the opening day of the WTA 250 tournament in Den Bosch.

Six matches are scheduled for Day 1, featuring a lineup that includes former tournament finalist Bianca Andreescu.

Alexandrova Returns to Den Bosch

Tournament history favors Ekaterina Alexandrova, who won the Den Bosch title during her debut three seasons ago.

According to tournament records, the Russian player also reached the semifinals during each of her last two visits to the event.

Alexandrova faces Panna Udvardy in their first head-to-head meeting. Last year, Alexandrova lost in the semifinals to Elise Mertens despite holding 11 match points.

Udvardy entered the Top 100 this season after reaching her maiden WTA final in Bogota, though most of her success has come on clay courts.

Linette and Birrell Open Campaigns

Another opening match features Magda Linette against Kimberly Birrell in their first career meeting.

Both players enter the grass season following unexpected victories at the French Open. Linette defeated former champion Jelena Ostapenko, while Birrell defeated Jessica Pegula.
