Spain wrapped up its World Cup preparations with a 3-1 victory over Peru on Monday, June 8, 2026, in Puebla, Mexico.

The European side dominated despite missing several key players due to injury.

Mikel Oyarzabal opened the scoring just two minutes into the match. Pedri doubled the lead in the 32nd minute, giving Spain a comfortable advantage before halftime.

Early in the second half, Peru goalkeeper Pedro Gallese scored an own goal in the 53rd minute to make it 3-0.

Peru, which did not qualify for the World Cup, pulled one back through Jairo Vélez in the 66th minute.

Absent Stars

Spain played without Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, and Víctor Muñoz. The trio stayed at the team's training base in Tennessee to recover from injuries.

Yamal has been sidelined since April 22 with a left hamstring injury.

Spain will begin its World Cup campaign on June 15 against Cape Verde in Atlanta.

They then face Saudi Arabia on June 21 in Atlanta, followed by a group stage finale against Uruguay on June 26 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
