This move would allow Golden State to strengthen its frontcourt while moving on from Butler, who suffered an ACL tear in January and is expected to miss most of the upcoming season.
Acquiring Davis could potentially help the Warriors convince LeBron James to leave the Los Angeles Lakers for the Bay Area, though negotiations with the Wizards are expected to be difficult.
