The driver previously mentioned that he utilized a distinct mechanical approach during earlier European rounds to optimize his performance.
"I chose a different set-up this weekend, just ciphering through the data, working really," remarked Hamilton regarding his development choices.
Historic Victory and Championship Implications
Following the victory in Barcelona, which marked his 106th career win, Hamilton discussed the historical significance of winning with Ferrari when speaking to his former teammate Nico Rosberg.
"They are all special in their own way but this one is something else," said Hamilton.
Hamilton recalled his childhood memories of watching the Italian manufacturer dominate the sport on television.
"I watched Ferrari have all that success when I was younger, watching it on TV.
And as I've been racing here [in F1], I'd always watched the screens and wondered what it would be like to win in that car - and it's come," stated Hamilton.
The result brought Hamilton to second place in the drivers' championship standings, trailing championship leader Antonelli by 41 points.
"I definitely will take it.
There is a long, long way to go and they've still got great pace, as you can see.
But we are going to keep working and trying to close that gap," added Hamilton regarding the title fight.
