San Francisco Giants left-hander Robbie Ray delivered his longest start of the season on Tuesday, pitching eight dominant innings in a win over the Oakland Athletics.

Ray allowed only one unearned run on two hits and four walks, striking out six batters.

He threw 102 pitches, with 59 strikes, before reliever Caleb Kilian closed out the ninth inning.

The outing lowered Ray's season ERA to 3.70 and his WHIP to 1.28.

He now holds a 6-6 record with 80 strikeouts and 42 walks over 87.2 innings in 16 appearances this year.

Strong June Rebound

Ray has been effective in June, surrendering only five earned runs over 25 innings across four starts.

This marks a strong rebound after a difficult stretch in late May.

According to cbssports. com, Ray is scheduled to make his next start at home against Atlanta this weekend.
