Toronto Tempo guard Marina Mabrey was a late scratch for Saturday's game against the Phoenix Mercury due to sudden neck spasms.
The team announced her removal from the starting lineup just 30 minutes before tipoff at Scotiabank Arena.

According to TSN, Mabrey experienced the injury during pre-game warmups.
The sudden medical issue forced the franchise to alter its strategy for the historic contest, which marked the first time the Tempo hosted a game at Scotiabank Arena.
Mabrey's absence followed an exceptional performance on Thursday, where she tied the WNBA single-game scoring record with 53 points in a dominant victory over the Los Angeles Sparks.
TSN reported she shot 17-of-28 from the field during that record-setting outing.

The Tempo already faced depth challenges.
Yahoo Sports reported that Toronto had ruled out rookie Kiki Rice due to a Grade 3 left ankle sprain and veteran guard Brittney Sykes because of a left plantar fascia injury.
The visiting Phoenix Mercury also dealt with severe roster depletion.
According to Yahoo Sports, the Mercury ruled out Alyssa Thomas due to a league suspension following a Flagrant 2 foul against the Indiana Fever.

Additionally, Phoenix entered the game without Natasha Mack (left foot injury), Monique Akoa Makani (hamstring issue), Sami Whitcomb (knee surgery), and Jovana Nogic (personal reasons).
