The Los Angeles Lakers selected former Tennessee and Baylor wing Cameron Carr with the 24th overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, reuniting him with former collegiate teammate Dalton Knecht.
Carr played alongside Knecht during the 2023-2024 season at Tennessee before transferring to Baylor for the 2025-2026 season, where he developed into an impactful offensive player.

Media reports indicate that Carr previously emulated Knecht's approach during their time together in Knoxville.

Knecht's Role Diminished in Second Season
According to reports, Knecht experienced a decreased role under head coach JJ Redick during his second season, averaging 4.2 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.4 assists across 54 games.
The decline followed a rookie season where Knecht appeared in 78 games and averaged 19.2 minutes per contest.
