Stade Toulousain secured its fourth consecutive Bouclier de Brennus by defeating Montpellier 28-20 in the Top 14 final at the Stade de France on Saturday evening.

The historic victory matches the club's legendary four-year championship run achieved between 1994 and 1997.

Referee Luc Ramos paused the game as weather conditions deteriorated over the stadium, but the interruption failed to derail Toulouse's championship charge.

Peato Mauvaka opened the scoring for Toulouse in the sixth minute following a quick lineout with Antoine Dupont.

He scored a second try in the 33rd minute.

Dupont then extended the lead to 25-6 in the 37th minute after finishing a sequence orchestrated by Blair Kinghorn and Teddy Thomas.

Montpellier mounted a second-half comeback with tries from Justo Piccardo in the 42nd minute and Léo Coly in the 63rd minute.

Despite the pressure and a yellow card issued to Matthis Lebel, Toulouse maintained defensive discipline to secure the win.

English third-row player Jack Willis was named man of the match after executing 17 successful tackles and securing four vital turnovers.

Willis played the entire duration of the final and captained the squad during the trophy presentation.

The victory marks the 25th national title in the history of Stade Toulousain.
