Bangladesh has not lost a Test series since a 2-0 defeat to South Africa in 2024.
The match marks Bangladesh's return to Zimbabwe for a full bilateral series after four years, according to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS).
The tour continues with three ODIs on July 6, 9, and 11 in Harare, followed by three T20Is in Bulawayo on July 15, 17, and 19.
Bangladesh have historically struggled in Zimbabwe, winning only three of nine ODI series there over the past 25 years.

They also aim to settle unfinished business from their 2022 tour, which ended in 2-1 defeats in both the ODI and T20I series.
In red-ball cricket, the two teams shared honors in their last Test series in 2025.
Zimbabwe won the first Test by three wickets, but Bangladesh bounced back with an innings and 106-run victory to level the series 1-1.
That defeat remains Zimbabwe's only win against Bangladesh in their last six Tests dating back to 2018.
